Tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions, it is easily grown in average, dry to medium well-drained soil in part shade, and is especially suitable for dry, open woodland or savanna. Over time, it will spread to form colonies and may not be suitable for smaller planting areas. Divide it every 3-4 years to control spread and maintain vigor.
