The place I'm thinking of for larkspur is on the north/northeast side of my house, with sun in the morning and almost complete shade in the afternoon. Will that work?
Tall Blue Larkspur strongly prefers lightly shaded areas, and full sun would be better than full shade. A location with complete shade in the afternoon might not be optimal. The plants will grow there, but might end up being very leggy and floppy as they strive to grow higher and get more sun.
