Rare and unusual, Wild Quinine is a gorgeous native plant with everything one could want in a garden perennial: upright form, excellent foliage, a long bloom time, and resistance to insects and disease. The dense clusters of pure white flowers attract an array of pollinators. Combine Wild Quinine with Prairie Blazingstar and Bergamot, or Purple Coneflower, for a beautiful late summer show.
Native plants can be grown outside of their native range in the appropriate growing conditions. This map shows the native range, as well as the introduced range, of this species.

You list this as Taproot. Another source lists this plant as rhizomous. Just want to confirm how it spreads and how aggressive it is.
Wild Quinine is tap rooted. It spreads by seed, but is not an aggressive self-sower by any means. Compared to plants such as Asters, growth of the seedlings is slow. Even in the event of self seeding it is fairly easy to stop any unwanted spread.
