Plants for Pollinators

green halictid bee on ohio spiderwort flower

Native plants are a necessity for our native bees and butterflies, and offer the best support for pollinators of all sorts. The most effective pollinator gardens include a succession of blooms, from early summer through late fall, to make sure that nectar and pollen are always available. Variety is good! A variety of flower shapes and colors will attract a variety of pollinators.
