Are individual plants of Coreopsis lanceolata long-lived or short-lived?
Lanceleaf coreopsis is a relatively short-lived perennial. "Short-Lived" can be anywhere from 3-7 years. In general, perennials that are short-lived will self-seed easily, and that is true for C. lanceolata. It does self-seed readily. In a garden setting, deadheading lanceleaf coreopsis can extend the bloom period and greatly reduce unwanted seedlings.
