The pure white flowers of Boneset stand-out in the late summer landscape and look great combined with the pink wands of Dense Blazingstar. A large perennial wildflower, Eupatorium perfoliatum is closely related to the Joe-Pye-weeds, and will occasionally grow up to 6 feet, but is typically around 4 feet tall. The highly textured, lance-shaped leaves clasp the stem, and were once believed to facilitate the setting and healing of bones. Boneset prefers soil rich soil that remains consistently moist. It will tolerate some shade but does best in full sun.
Host plant for the Spring Azure butterfly, the Boneset Borer, and Three-lined flower moth.
