Will this grow on brick wall? What kind of support does it need?
Climbing prairie Rose is a very large trailing rose, and will not grow on a wall without a support structure or framework of some sort. The second photo in our image carrousel shows Climbing Prairie Rose on a fence. When the image is enlarged you can see that the Rose is attached to a grid. In this case the rose is actually tied to this structure for better access and pruning purposes. This rose can easily be grown on a trellis, with some manual directing of the canes. A wooden trellis that is very stable and anchored to the ground is needed. (Individual canes can be 12 feet or so). It will trail natually on a low fence, about 4 feet high.
