Plants for Moist Areas

Moist soils tend to be regularly damp and often experience brief periods of standing water in spring or fall. The surface soil may dry out in summer, but the subsoil stays moist. The best choices for moist soils are native plants that have evolved to thrive in wetlands, pond margins, or around springs and seeps. These species are great for rain gardens, bioswales, pond margins, shorlines and drainage areas.
