For Moist Areas

Moisture-loving plants are at home in low lying areas where water can collect and persist. Pond margins, shorelines, bioswales or a drainage ditch near the road may be the perfect spot to plant these natives. Moist soils are typically wet in spring, and have standing water after a hard rain. The surface may dry up in hot weather, but the subsoil usually remains moist. Many of these plants will thrive in medium garden soils, as well.
