Low Growing Prairie for Clay Soils

For clay soils in full sun.

With this Low Growing mix we've assembled a lineup of the best short prairie plants for heavy clay soils! While most “CLAY BUSTER” flowers and grasses tended to be taller species, the flowers in this mix grow only one to three feet high (a few may grow higher under optimal conditions). The grasses stay at waist height or less, allowing the flowers to really show off.  As with any seeding, your prairie will do best if you can provide two to three inches of good topsoil over the clay to create a good seedbed.
