This relative of the sunflowers produces a profusion of bright yellow flowers in early to mid-summer. Excellent for problem clay soils, it grows in any reasonably fertile soil and thrives in moist, heavy soils. Does not spread by rhizomes, but will self-sow in open soil. Hardy to Zones 3 - 8.
