Superb foliage is the statuesque plant’s claim to fame. This new and unusual plant is the most remarked-upon plant during our summer Prairie Nursery Tours. The soft, rich, and tactile nature of the leaves is particularly notable. The deep blue-green leaves look great all season long, right up to frost. Growing five to ten feet tall, it serves as a towering sentinel in the prairie garden, and seldom flops. The white flowers are attractive in their own right, but somewhat eclipsed by the phenomenal foliage. Grows well in medium to moist soils, in full sun or light shade. Self-sows readily on open soil. Hardy to Zones 4 - 8.
