Low Growing Prairie for Clay Soils

Many of you have asked “Is there a seed mix that will grow on clay but stays only a few feet tall?” Until now, most of the “CLAY BUSTERS” flower and grass mixes tended to be taller species.  We’ve now assembled a stellar lineup of the best short prairie plants for heavy clay soils! The flowers grow only one to three feet high, with a few that may reach up to four or five feet under optimal conditions. The grasses stay at waist height or less, allowing the flowers to really show off.  As with any seeding, your prairie will do best if you can provide two to three inches of good topsoil over the clay to create a good seedbed. For clay soils in full sun.

Contains at least 15 wildflowers & 2 or more grasses.
