The gracefully arching stems of Great Solomon’s Seal lend a strong architectural element to the prairie garden or meadow.The subtle, cream-colored flowers appear in May and June. In autumn, it’s deep purple berries put on a real show.The attractive foliage turns a striking gold in fall and is reason enough to plant this long-lived denizen of prairies and open woodlands. Grows between two and four feet tall on any well-drained soil, from rich sand to loam and clay. Spreading slowly by rhizomes, it will form nice patches.
