First Prairie Nursery
Living Prairie
created for Milwaukee Lake Home & Cabin Show

Visitors walked through our first indoor "Living Prairie" at
the Milwaukee Lake Home & Cabin Show April 20 - 22, 2007.

Plant Division Manager Betty Bless, Plant Production Coordinator Scott Parsons,
Grower Marilyn Weller and the rest of the plant crew worked all winter
growing some 800 plants in gallon pots for the event. Not all bloomed at the
time they'd hoped, but many did!

Visitors to our booth discussed their landscaping needs with PN
Senior Ecologists Jennifer Baker and Neil Diboll, and bought plants to
take home and transplant.

Following is a photo of the framework and pathway, which we thank
Marty McCarthy for designing and constructing. He also
built the beautiful table in the foreground of the photo above.

Below: A spring snow storm in early April didn't affect the plants
growing inside the heated greenhouse.

Following are close ups of some of the plants grown up for the Living
Prairie. After the show, they were sold to a landscaping firm for
transplanting.
