Frosty Plants!

When we think of flowering plants, all too often we consider them only during their most colorful stage, when in full bloom. But so many of our wonderful native prairie flowers and grasses have excellent winter form, well after the flowers have faded and the seeds have formed.

Here are a few frosty seedheads that caught my eye one November morning when hoarfrost was thick on the prairieā€¦.
